01 — Solar energy system

Generate clean, affordable, and renewable home energy

When the sun rises in the morning each day, your rooftop solar panels begin to generate electricity. Your solar inverter automatically manages the electricity produced by your solar panels, allowing you to use it with smart home devices and your EV charger. Your home solar panels will store any energy you don’t use in your solar battery for later. In the event of a power outage, you can continue to live your life with renewable energy from your solar panels and reliable battery backup power, giving you greater energy independence and peace of mind.

02 — Smart home technology

Effortlessly power your home and your lifestyle

Smart home systems inside ensure electricity from your solar panels is used efficiently to power your home. With the Sunly Home mobile app, you can easily control, track, and manage your energy from anywhere. So you can go about your day with certainty that you’re living a clean, green lifestyle and using electricity responsibly.

03 — Home battery storage

Store reliable, whole-home backup power

Solar panels for your home will automatically store extra energy in your backup battery throughout each day. When the sun goes down, you can use the clean energy from your backup battery to power your home. In the event of a blackout, you can continuously power your home each day with integrated solar with battery backup. At the end of each day, your energy system will automatically send any energy you don’t use to the electric grid for other homeowners to use, giving you credit on your next utility bill.

Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations for your home use electricity from your solar energy system to ensure your commute is fast and responsible. Simply plug it in when you arrive home each day, and your Sunly Home energy system will do the work for you. Home charging through your solar panel system can reduce fuel costs and your carbon footprint with zero tailpipe emissions.

Need roof repairs before going solar?

Depending on your system size, a rooftop PV system can be expensive and heavy, so it’s important to ensure your roof can support them over the course of 20 years or more. The Sunly Home Energy Pros can evaluate your roof in person and give you an accurate assessment in terms of whether a new roof or any roof repairs are necessary before installing solar panels. If additional work is necessary, we can help you bundle your roofing with your solar installation, saving you time and money.

Solar tax incentives

Eligible homeowners could qualify for Federal and State tax credits when they go solar*

When you select a Lease or a PPA plan, Sunly Home will qualify for any solar tax credits on your behalf and pass those savings on to you via a lower monthly payment. Homeowners who select a Financed Solar Loan or Cash option may qualify for Federal and State tax incentives on their own.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Solar energy works using photovoltaic (PV) cells stored inside rooftop solar panels, which are made up of layers of silicon and other materials, to convert sunlight into electricity. When sunlight hits the solar panels, the photons knock electrons free from the atoms in the silicon, generating an electric current. This direct current (DC) electricity is then converted into alternating current (AC) electricity by an inverter, which can be used to power your home or fed back into the grid.

Solar energy is a renewable energy source that is derived from sunlight. Solar panels, made up of photovoltaic (PV) cells, capture the energy from the sun and use solar power inverters to convert it into usable electricity for homes and businesses. This clean and sustainable form of energy helps reduce reliance on fossil fuels and the associated carbon emissions.

A smart home is a house equipped with smart energy features, including solar panels, backup batteries, EV chargers, and in-home features, like lighting, heating, and electronic devices that can be controlled remotely by phone or computer. The smart home of the future is a sustainable living space that’s designed to integrate all aspects of modern life.

To turn your home into a smart home, you need to install and integrate your home’s devices, including solar panels, backup batteries, home security, and EVs, through a central control system so it can be automated and accessed remotely. The best way to transform your traditional house into a smart home system is to work with a home energy professional who has experience integrating various smart home devices.

Charging your home backup battery with solar is a simple process with the right setup. When the sun rises in the morning, rooftop solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. You can use the energy from your solar panels to power your home, and automatically store any excess electricity in your solar battery for later. When the sun goes down or blackouts occur, you can use the energy you stored in your battery to power your house.
